The CFDA awards were held in New York last night. For those playing at home CFDA stands for 'Council of Fashion Desgners America' not 'California Department Of Food and Agriculture' which google thought I was after. I am going to Cali in a week and I do like food so maybe google was on to something or I just need to learn to internet.
The CFDA awards is an annual event which 'recognizes the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear, and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision, and lifetime achievement.' So it is pretty much the Golden Globe of fashion. It's casual, intimate and a load of fun.
Now you've probably already seen Rhianna's sparkly Adam Selma custom dress, which definitely had a wow factor, but the red carpet was a place to 'shine' for all our fav style icons, designers and all those in between. My favourites are Whitney Port, Rachel Zoe -expected because those two are perfect, Blake Lively - she has nailed every red carpet look as of late, and Keri Russell - her Rosie Assoulin dress was stunning.
