Zoeey Deschanel X Tommy Hilfiger

Zoeey Deschanel is like the older sister that you have always wanted. She is beautiful, smart, and her resume is pretty extensive. She's a actress (we've all seen her films or tv show) musician and now you can add designer to that list.
Deschanel has joined forces with the powerhouse that is Tommy Hilfiger, creating a collection of 16 dresses. The nautical inspired colour palette is amazing teamed with classic silhouettes. It's simple yet perfect, I can't wait too see the rest of the collection when it hits the American stores next week.

Out of this world..

A few weeks ago I styled some promotional photos for the amazing DJ Aurora. She was after a futuristic kinda vibe but nothing too out there, the shoot was a success and I can't wait to share the other photos with everyone.

The worst thing about styling is when you have a vision and can't find anything to make that vision come alive. Finding a yellow dress had me stressing big time, I just wanted to pair bright yellow with pink. It even got to the point that I rang my mum and asked if I could make a yellow dress in time, her answer, no. Luckily I found this awesome on in a random shop in an arcade at Hurstville, the same place even sold the belt, yay for my vision coming alive.

The White Shirt Campaign 2014

It's not every day you can say your purchase has helped save lives, but between April 10th to May 1st if you purchase a white shirt from Witchery 100% of the proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

The proceeds from this campagin are used to support vital research to find an early detection test. Something which is incredibly important and can save lives. Ever 10 hours a. Woman dies from ovarian cancer, there is currently no cure and by the time it is detected it is usually too late.

The white shirt campagin has raised over $4.9 million in the 14 years it has been running, last year alone over $1.15 million was raised. With major sponsors like Vogue, GQ, Sunday Style and Body + Soul, and celeb ambassadors including The Stenmark Twins, Cheyenne Tozzi, Nicole Warne and Valerija, it's easy to see why this campagin is become such a prominate charity event.

There is a white shirt for everyone so head into your local witchery or jump online to support this great cause, snap some selfies and show your support. Also don't forget to participate in White Shirt day on May the 1st, I know I'm really excited for the twilight photo at Sydney Opera House.

MBFWA: Alice McCall

Alice McCall's collection stuck to their usuall esthetic of pretty, feminine and magical. When you search the internet 'In My Dream's We Are Flying' is described in various ways.
'inspired by the mystical works of Edgar Allan Poe.'
'inspired by the surreal and infinite possibility of lucid dreaming'
'Alice has gone to wonderland'

The collection is mystical and surreal though I don't know if I would go to the extreme of comparing it to wonderland. This is possibly because I wasn't their to see the the shredded paper and broken sculptures hanging from the ceiling in a creative yet still bizarre fashion.

When I look at this collection I see a glamour tea party with Gatsby. The pastel colour palette reminds me of being a little girl and the innocence that goes along with it. The romantic silhouettes are feminine, elegant with the sheer fabrics bringing sex appeal. The collection makes me want to frolick in gardens, drink tea and forget the troubles of the modern world.

MBFWA: Christopher Esber

Still trying to post my favorite collections from MBFWA, this week has just been too hectic (the world of retail doesn't stop for glamorous occasions).

Christopher Esber's show this year would be seen as a pretty big milestone. No longer was Esber seen as an 'up and coming' designer, instead the fashion world finally seeing him for what he is, a must see talented designer. Obtaining the Australian catagory in the International Woolmark Prize does help strike peoples interest.

The collection is nautical inspired and minimal. I am loving this quote that I found on Marie Claire so I thought I would share:

"This collection works around contrast - I started researching a nautical/militaristic feeling, combined with the idea of a shipwreck. There's a mixture of men's suiting codes, navy suiting, metal buttons mixed with this ragged, natural feeling. There's a refined and dishevelled vibe, making it modern and easy to wear." - Christopher Esber

MBFWA: We Are Handsome

The new collection from We Are Handsome makes you feel like a vacation is in need. The prints are way too cute, some with a Miami feel others perfect for a safari getaway. There is something for everyone, pants, kaftans, one pieces, rashies, anything you need for a perfect summer.

The runway show had a bit of everything buff topless hotties, strong jewellery and even slithery snake.
