Still trying to post my favorite collections from MBFWA, this week has just been too hectic (the world of retail doesn't stop for glamorous occasions).
Christopher Esber's show this year would be seen as a pretty big milestone. No longer was Esber seen as an 'up and coming' designer, instead the fashion world finally seeing him for what he is, a must see talented designer. Obtaining the Australian catagory in the International Woolmark Prize does help strike peoples interest.
The collection is nautical inspired and minimal. I am loving this quote that I found on Marie Claire so I thought I would share:
"This collection works around contrast - I started researching a nautical/militaristic feeling, combined with the idea of a shipwreck. There's a mixture of men's suiting codes, navy suiting, metal buttons mixed with this ragged, natural feeling. There's a refined and dishevelled vibe, making it modern and easy to wear." - Christopher Esber
