MBFWA: By Johnny

I have always had a soft spot for the label By Johnny. I don’t know if it’s because I went to the same TAFE as Johnny Schembri did and stumbled across a lookbook shot one day (I was allowed to bring him down a steamer and tried to convince everyone that they should let me stay and help, unfortunately I had to go back to class). Or if it was because he was one of the first designers that I saw who thought outside the box.

The colours, shapes and fabrics of anything from By Johnny have always amazed me and the S/S 14/15 collection takes it up a notch. The neoprene from last season is back, YAY, this time combined with a more elegant and glamorous silhouette. The combinations of colours are insane and there are even sequins this year.

I can’t wait to add another By Johnny piece to my collection; the hard task will be picking only one.
